Eaglecrest Ski Area  (NEW for 2010 The Black Bear Chair)

Eaglecrest is a true locals mountain located on Douglas Island just across the bridge from downtown. Don’t be fooled by the number of lifts and relative unknown stature of the ski area. This is Alaska, and our home mountain is for rippers.

The terrain is varied with backcountry access to the east & west bowls. Views atop the ridge look down into Admiralty Island and Stephen’s Passage coastal waterways. Lines are steep with trees strewn about. During the 2007 season we had the most snow on the planet… no one knew but us! The ski area is our first choice on the activity list when helicopters are unable to operate during foul weather. It is also where we conduct skier ability assessments and avalanche beacon practice for clients who've booked packages. You’ll be stoked to explore the terrain that this mountain has to offer.

APD does not operate heli-skiing on Douglas Island. Earn em at Eaglecrest!
